Financial Milestone Events Calendar

Planning sessions, workshops, and guidance opportunities throughout 2025 and into 2026

We run quarterly planning sessions for people at different stages of their financial journey. Some are just starting to think about buying property, others are mid-career and reassessing their approach. A few are nearing retirement and want to make sure they've got things lined up properly.

These aren't sales pitches. They're working sessions where we walk through actual scenarios and help you figure out what makes sense for your situation. The timeline below shows what's coming up—and when registration typically opens.

Choose Your Planning Focus

Different milestones require different approaches. Pick the path that matches where you are right now, not where you think you should be.

1

First Property Purchase

You're thinking about buying but aren't sure if your deposit is realistic, whether your income is stable enough, or how to approach lenders. We cover deposit strategies, loan pre-approval timelines, and what actually matters to banks in 2025.

2

Career Transition Planning

Switching jobs or industries can mess with your financial commitments if you're not careful. We look at how employment changes affect mortgages, insurance policies, and super contributions—and what you can do ahead of time to smooth things out.

3

Pre-Retirement Preparation

Five to ten years out from retirement is when small adjustments make the biggest difference. We walk through super optimization, debt reduction timelines, and how to structure your assets so you've got flexibility when you actually stop working.

2025–2026 Event Schedule

Most sessions happen on Saturday mornings at our Gulliver office. We keep groups small—usually eight to twelve people—so there's time for individual questions. Registration opens six weeks before each event.

September 2025

First Home Planning Workshop

This one's aimed at people who've been saving but feel stuck on the next step. We go through realistic deposit targets for different property types in North Queensland, what lenders actually look for in 2025, and how to structure your application so it doesn't get knocked back for fixable reasons.

  • Understanding current lending criteria and deposit requirements
  • Realistic property price ranges and suburb comparisons
  • Building your application timeline and documentation checklist
November 2025

Career Change Financial Review

Changing jobs or starting a business creates gaps in your financial setup if you're not careful. We look at how to protect existing commitments, what documentation you'll need for lenders during transition periods, and how to structure things so you're not caught off guard six months later.

  • Income documentation during employment transitions
  • Protecting existing loans and insurance during career shifts
  • Timing your financial moves around job changes
February 2026

Pre-Retirement Structuring Session

If you're within ten years of stopping work, this is where you figure out what still needs adjusting. We cover super consolidation, debt reduction strategies that actually make sense for your situation, and how to set up your assets so you've got options when the time comes.

  • Super fund review and consolidation strategies
  • Debt reduction priorities and realistic timelines
  • Asset structuring for retirement flexibility

Investment Property Considerations

Buying investment property isn't right for everyone, but if you're considering it, there's a lot to get straight before you start looking. We walk through serviceability calculations, tax implications specific to Queensland, and whether the numbers actually work for your situation—not just in theory.

  • Realistic cashflow projections and serviceability checks
  • Queensland-specific tax and depreciation considerations
  • Deciding if investment property fits your actual financial position
